Partnerships based on trust, integrity, and honesty are essential. Everyone seems to know that, but Xtreme takes it to, well, the extreme.
By building strong relationships with construction companies and delivering unmatched service creates a bond that is sometimes rare in this world. However, it doesn't need to be complicated or difficult; rather it needs to be simplified with the foundation rooted in a belief that together we can achieve more.
Here are 4 ways that Xtreme sets its self apart when it comes to building strong, lasting partnerships, and how you can apply it to your organization.
1. Honesty
Honesty implies a refusal to lie, steal, or deceive in any way. By being transparent in the first and every conversation after that, you set a tone that you can be trusted. Lies, deception or other forms dishonesty (perceived or true) are tough to recover. Speaking truth at times can be difficult but always worth it.
Application: Train yourself and all of your employees to be honest in all forms of communication including texts, emails, invoices, proposals, and voice. If there is ever a question of dishonesty, don't ignore it, but rather address it face to face immediately. Your reputation is worth it.
2. Ethics
The moral principles that govern your or your companies behavior are considered your ethics. These are your common corporate beliefs and has an impact on how your organization views relationships. As a leader in a company, it is important to hire and train the entire team on "how we behave" in the workplace, deliver our services and overcome challenges.
Application: If you haven't already, make a quick list of the principals that your company lives by and believes. Make sure that your team not only has a copy but agrees with and practices them on a daily basis. You can also get creative and build a reward system for those who exhibit these behaviors above and beyond the normal call of duty.
3. Trust
Having a firm belief in the reliability, ability, and strength of someone or something is a powerful thing. We want relationships we can count on inside and outside of the workplace. In partnerships, one of the best qualities is knowing that your partner "will do what they say they will do when they say they will do it." High levels of confidence are achieved because it is based on more than words. Trust is based on actions.
Application: Trust can be a difficult thing to give and to earn, but without it, partnerships will struggle. Choose to be a company that moves beyond empty promises (words), but practice building trust with your actions.
4. Character
The mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual or an organization. Character has also been defined as "what person or group will do even when no one is watching." Xtreme boils this down to one simple phrase "always do the right thing." When faced with a difficult decision on a project, we default to that phrase and base our decision on what is right for the partnership, customer, employee, and the company.
Application: Create a culture and empower your employees to solve problems by doing the right thing in every situation. Practicing this involves trusting your team to make decisions based upon their character without fear of making a mistake. This takes some coaching to ensure that the employee shares the same moral qualities of the company, but exhibiting high character is a worthy pursuit.
